Your restaurant ready for e-invoicing in 2027
Since 1 September 2026, every French business must be able to receive electronic invoices. From 1 September 2027, small and medium businesses, so most restaurants, must also issue them through an approved platform and report their sales to consumers (e-reporting). Menuchic already produces Factur-X invoices and prepares these reports.
Invoices & e-invoicing, in practice
Native Factur-X
A readable PDF with embedded EN 16931 data, VAT broken down and B2B details. The invoice is created from the order; a correction goes through a credit note.
E-reporting prepared
Consumer sales are totalled by day and VAT rate, in the format the tax authority expects, for the POS and online sales alike.
Sent through an approved platform
Invoices and reports are ready; sending them through an approved platform will be switched on as soon as the connection is in place.
Set up in 4 steps
- Check your company details (SIREN, VAT)
- The invoice is created from the order
- Consumer sales are totalled every night
- Sending starts once the platform is connected

Your questions
Will a PDF sent by email be enough?
No. Between businesses, invoices will have to go through an approved platform: from 1 September 2027 for issuing by a small or medium restaurant. Receiving them has been mandatory since 1 September 2026.
What is e-reporting?
Reporting to the tax authority the sales made to consumers, which don’t require an e-invoice. For a restaurant, that’s most of its revenue.
What is Factur-X?
A Franco-German e-invoice format: a PDF that also contains the invoice’s structured data.
